Randal Kolo Muani has missed out on more than just vital Tottenham Hotspur game time with his latest injury.

The Tottenham Hotspur players have jetted off to different parts of the globe to link up with their national sides following the 2-2 draw against Man United on Saturday.

The club will resume their Premier League campaign with a big North London derby at the Emirates Stadium in two weeks’ time.

One Spurs star has been forced to pull out of the national squad due to injury, but it turns out that his initial selection was rather controversial.

Controversy over France call-up for Tottenham forward Randal Kolo Muani

Kolo Muani was forced off with an injury at half-time against Man United, and it has now been confirmed that he has suffered a broken jaw.

The forward, who only returned from his previous injury a couple of weeks ago, was named in the France squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Azerbaijan, but he has been forced to pull out after his latest blow.

According to L’Equipe, the decision to recall Kolo Muani to the France set-up did not go down well with some of his international teammates.

The outlet points out that Didier Deschamps is a big fan of the 26-year-old and continues to back him, but many of the players did not agree with his decision.

In fact, it is asserted that Kolo Muani’s selection ’caused friction among some of his rivals for the position’.

Muani’s injury is a big blow for Spurs

Just a few days ago, Thomas Frank suggested that there is more to come from Kolo Muani, explaining that the forward was in the process of building up his fitness.

The on-loan PSG man’s latest injury comes at a terrible time for the player as well as the Lilywhites.

Frank has already confirmed that Solanke is unlikely to start against Arsenal, which means that the Dane will have to turn to Richarlison or Mathys Tel to lead the line at the Emirates Stadium.
