Rangers consultant Stig Inge Bjornebye has revealed the Ibrox club have held discussions over the future of Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian forward has confirmed he will leave Anfield at the end of the season, bringing a nine-year spell to a close. At 33, Salah is expected to attract significant interest as he considers his next move, with a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia widely seen as the leading option.
Bjornebye, who played for Liverpool from 1992 to 2000, is currently working as a football consultant and advisor at Rangers on an initial six-month deal, with an extension expected. It comes as Salah is among three Premier League legends Al-Nassr can sign this summer.

The 56-year-old revealed the forward has been a topic of discussion within Rangers at Ibrox.
"I don’t know what Mo's plans are - we discussed it at work today as well, as I’m an advisor to Rangers" said Bjornebye. "We discussed where he’ll go and so on. But I think most people are grateful for what he’s done for Liverpool.
"He is a true legend at Liverpool and has achieved a remarkable legacy for a great club. He has delivered exceptional results for them over many seasons. There were some heated discussions about his situation last year, but the matter has been resolved and he has remained loyal to Liverpool.
“I think most people can accept that he has given the club many great years and now wants to seize a new opportunity, perhaps embarking on another adventure."

Salah is no stranger to Rangers, having netted the fastest hat-trick in the Champions League history against them in 2022. The Egyptian needed just six minutes to score three goals at Ibrox, as Liverpool secured a commanding 7-1 victory.
Speaking after confirming that his glittering spell with Liverpool was coming to an end, Salah said: This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life.
