Real Madrid Get Reality Check Over PSG Target Amid Uncertain Liverpool Future

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté is in the final year of his contract, with no extension in place, leaving his long-term future at Anfield in question.

Reports indicate PSG and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation and could move if an agreement is not reached before the January transfer window.

Foot Mercato previously reported Konaté has been offered to several top European clubs — including PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona — increasing speculation that a transfer could be on the horizon as his contract runs down.

That update follows MARCA’s claim that Konaté has turned down a third contract proposal from Liverpool. In addition, José Félix Díaz of MARCA has indicated that a potential move to Real Madrid next summer is already well advanced.

Moreover, MARCA has also reported that Real Madrid have identified Konaté and William Saliba as their two primary defensive targets. With Saliba under contract until 2027, Konaté is viewed as the more realistic option for their next move.
