The route for legendary boxer Ricky Hatton's funeral procession has been confirmed. The former world welterweight champion, who was found dead at his home in Hyde in September, will be put to rest on Friday, October 10.
On Monday afternoon, the 46-year-old's family released details that show the cortège's will travel from Gee Cross through Hyde towards the Manchester Cathedral and finally the Etihad Stadium, home of his beloved Manchester City.
The procession will begin at the Cheshire Cheese pub on Stockport Road, Hyde, at around 9:45am, before making its way to Harehill Tavern.
Doves will be released at its next destination at The New Inn. Further stops will include Hatton's Gym, Hyde Town Hall, Betta Bodies Gym and the AO Arena.
A private memorial service will take place at the cathedral from 12pm, and from there the procession will move onto the Etihad Stadium.
Entry to the service is by invitation only, but members of the public will have an opportunity to pay their respects as the funeral cortège makes its way to the cathedral.
The Manchester Evening News has joined forces with the Daily Star as we campaign to continue Ricky's legacy regarding men's mental health.
Following his death we're raising funds for Andy's Man Club and the Campaign Against Living Miserably, two charities that were very close to the former world champion's heart. You can find out more information and donate HERE.
