Robbie Fowler has questioned Arne Slot's decision to reveal that Alexander Isak will only play 45 minutes during Liverpool's second-leg Champions League quarterfinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
Heading into the second leg at Anfield, Isak's name was a surprising inclusion on the Reds' teamsheet, with the Swedish striker set to feature alongside fellow summer signing Hugo Ekitike. However, prior to kickoff, Slot revealed that Isak, who broke his leg back in December, would play only the first half against the defending European Champions, an admission that left Fowler stunned.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, Slot said, "If you include [Florian] Wirtz to that, it is only 88 minutes they play together. The thinking is that, as we all know, we need to score goals, and there are goals in these players. They are two target men, two players we can play into."

If you have to bring him with the possibility of extra-time, then it makes sense for me to start."
However, the decision to reveal that Isak may only last the first half left Fowler bemused.
"I can't believe he's done it, in fairness. You come out and more or less given the tactic away, really, straight away," said Fowler of Slot's comments.
"If he changes after 45 minutes, that means there's going to be a little bit of a change in the dynamics or the formation or the tactics of Liverpool. So for me, that doesn't make sense."
