Manchester City had plenty to celebrate following their victory over Arsenal but Pep Guardiola would have been dismayed by an injury to key midfield star Rodri
Manchester City are firmly in the title race after dispatching Arsenal to move within three points of the league leaders. With a game in hand, Pep Guardiola's men can take the initiative in a matter of days.
The quick turnaround ensures the Catalan coach will be assessing his squad's fitness and readiness. Star midfielder Rodri was forced off the field during the clash with the Gunners, ensuring there is at least one concern heading into the match with Burnley.
City take on the Clarets on Wednesday at Turf Moor, meaning there is little time to dwell upon the jubilation at full-time on Sunday. Instead, the team will be hard at work recovering to continue their push for a Premier League title.

Manchester Evening News takes a look at the latest Manchester City injury news and possible returns for the club's stars.
Rodri
Rodri departed the Etihad pitch with a groin injury in the 88th minute against Arsenal when he was replaced by Nico Gonzalez. The Spaniard asked to come off quickly after suffering the issue and now a tense wait is to come.
The Ballon d'Or winner is set to undergo tests to clarify his issue. He was able to stand and make his way onto the pitch in celebration at full-time against Arsenal.
“I don’t know how long Rodri will be out,” Guardiola said. “[It’s the] Groin I think the doctor said but we will see. We will make a test tonight or tomorrow.”
Possible return: Unknown.
Josko Gvardiol
The Croatian defender suffered a broken leg against Chelsea in January and he is still uncertain to return before the end of the season. Speaking earlier this month, Guardiola said: "He is getting better, too, but still, he is not close."
Potential return date: May 2026.
Ruben Dias
Ruben Dias has missed City's last two matches after suffering an ankle injury in training. The Portugal star was ruled out of the match against Arsenal ahead of the game meaning there is a slim chance he could be back for Burnley.
Possible return: April 22nd.
Mateo Kovacic
The midfielder made his first appearance for almost six months after coming off the bench against Chelsea for a nine-minute outing. The Croatian had been kept out of action with an ankle injury.
There has been no update to suggest Kovacic is injured, but he was left out of City's squad that faced Arsenal. He may have just missed the cut given the club's depth.
Possible return: April 22nd.
