Rodrygo and Viktor Gyokeres Arsenal transfers can help forgotten former coach

Arsenal saw their former assistant coach Carlos Cuesta leave the club this summer. He moved away to Italy to join Serie A club Parma as he was offered an opportunity he simply could not turn down.

The 29-year-old posted to social media in the wake of his exit: "After five beautiful years it’s hard to put this into words, but I can only express how grateful I am for having lived my day-to-day with such special people and feel what it means to represent this football club, with its incredible history and values.

"The only thing I’ve ever tried to do was give everything I had inside of me every single day. I was inspired by the culture that was created, by the hunger of every person of the organisation and by the unity that we had in any situation that we had to face.

"It has been a privilege to have had the chance to work with the players, staff, directors and all the employees of the club and at the same time, to receive an extra push from our amazing fans in every match. Because of the quality of its people, I’m convinced that the best moments for this football club are still yet to come. Enjoy the journey, because it is a very exciting one. Thank you @arsenal."

However, despite leaving Arsenal, Cuesta might still aid the club in their pursuit of a brand new player or more. The club is naturally chasing several attacking players as it tries to strengthen the team.

The club were certainly lacking in their attacking options last season, as they fell away in the title race and fell short of the semi-final in the UEFA Champions League. Adding the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, and Rodrygo would go a huge distance to addressing that.

However, with deals for all four seen as very expensive, it is believed that some sales might be necessary to make a move. This is where Cuesta comes in, and there are suggestions in Portugal that Parma are keen on one of the potential players available for an exit this summer.

Fabio Vieira spent last season on loan with Porto and had a decent campaign. However, there has yet to be interest in the attacking midfielder besides a claim from Portuguese outlet Bola Na Rede, who suggest Parma are keen on the 25-year-old and the Gunners are seeking a €20million (£17.2million) fee to sell him.

This may not be a transformative fee, but alongside other sales like Oleksandr Zinchenko, Albert Sambi Lokonga and potentially Leandro Trossard it could change the club's spending capacity. It has already been a strong summer, but there is the chance to improve even further by pushing the boat out for some if not all of the aforementioned attacking additions.
