Rodrygo has taken to social media amid rumors linking him with a move to Liverpool.
Reports suggest that the Reds are keen on capturing the Brazilian, whose future at Real Madrid seems uncertain. The 24-year-old saw limited action, playing just 90 minutes over three games under Xabi Alonso following their Club World Cup semifinal exit.
Rodrygo found himself on the bench for three matches, including a loss to Paris Saint-Germain, and his pitch time reduced after a 65-minute appearance in the group stage against Al-Hilal. With Rodrygo starting as a substitute in five straight matches, there's been growing speculation about his next steps, with both Arsenal and Liverpool now linked with the Brazilian star.
Diario AS recently reported that Liverpool chiefs are gearing up to make a strong push for the winger, prepared to do "everything in their power" to secure his signature.
It's understood that Liverpool is ready to dispatch representatives to initiate discussions with Madrid, who are believed to be asking for €100 million ($115.9 million) for Rodrygo.
Despite the mounting transfer talk, the forward seems to be focusing on enjoying his break and gearing up for Madrid's upcoming season, where the team aims to chase down Barcelona and reclaim the top spot in Spanish soccer.
In a recent Instagram post, Rodrygo shared candid shots from his trip to the United States, captioning it: "Days in (United States flag emoji)."
While Rodrygo seems to be having a good time in the United States, as seen in the photos, not all of his experiences there have been positive amid difficulties in leaving his mark at the club.
During the Club World Cup, ex-Liverpool player Alonso was bombarded with queries about Rodrygo's future at the club, with Arda Guler often being chosen over him, alongside stars like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Nonetheless, Alonso firmly defended his choice to exclude the winger from the starting lineup.
"I didn't play Rodrygo for a technical decision," Alonso said after the defeat to PSG. "We thought we would be better off with other players. It's not about his future."
He added: "The fact that he didn't play again is a game-by-game decision. The way things were going, we needed another player.
"There haven't been any decisions about the future throughout this entire championship; we haven't rotated much. We'll start in a different context. We want to build a team that plays as a unit and maintain that feeling and spirit.
"The World Cup has been very demanding; we've been left in the penultimate stage, it hurts, and now we'll see what happens."
