Rodrygo to Arsenal transfer latest as Andrea Berta faces Man City problem

3 hours ago 17

Rodrygo continues to be linked with an exit from Real Madrid this summer, with Arsenal continuing to track the winger.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres have been signed by the Gunners already this summer but Andrea Berta may look to strengthen further, with another addition in the forward line a possibility. The likes of Rodrygo and Eberechi Eze are of interest, football.london understands, but it's unclear at this stage if a move will happen with three weeks of the window remaining.

Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are Mikel Arteta's options on the left and it may take one of the duo to leave before another attacking player is signed. Time is running out, however, and Rodrygo is now attracting interest from elsewhere.

The 24-year-old, who can play on the left and right, as well as centrally, has been linked with a move to Manchester City. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Pep Guardiola's side are considering a move for the Brazilian due to a few imminent exits.

Jack Grealish looks like he is heading to Everton, while James McAtee and Savinho could leave if a club matches City's valuation. Nottingham Forest, Everton and West Ham have been linked with McAtee, while Tottenham have opened talks with City over a potential deal for Savinho.

According to Romano, City see Rodrygo as a dream target with Guardiola a "big fan" of the former Santos man. Real Madrid value the player at around €100million (£86million) and would allow him to leave if he wishes.

Rodrygo scored 14 goals in 54 appearances for Madrid last season and also contributed with 11 assists. He only featured three times in the Club World Cup under new boss Xabi Alonso, however, and remained on the bench on three occasions, which has led to rumours linking him with a move away.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are expected to focus on exits before they turn their attention to more arrivals. Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson have all linked with a move away but, at this time, remain Arsenal players.

Vieira is in talks over a potential move to Stuttgart, while Fulham are keen on signing Nelson, believed to be a loan move despite Arsenal hoping for a more permanent solution. Karl Hein, Trossard and Martinelli are a further three players who could well leave if a decent offer is made.
