England Under-21 Euros winner Jonathan Rowe has joined Serie A side Bologna following the fall-out from his fight with former Marseille team-mate Adrien Rabiot.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year deal, with Italian media, external reporting a fee of 19.5m euros (£16.8m) had been agreed for the forward.

Rowe and French midfielder Rabiot, 30, were transfer-listed by Marseille after they clashed at the end of the French club's 1-0 defeat at Rennes in their opening Ligue 1 fixture on Friday, 15 August.

Marseille boss Roberto de Zerbi described their fight as something he had "never seen in all my years in football".

"For the first time in my career, I didn't know what to say or what to do," admitted the Italian.

"I've never seen anything like it. I come from the streets, I'm used to fights, but I've never seen anything like this."

Rowe came off the bench a minute into extra time to fire England to a second successive U21 Euros crown as they beat Germany 3-2 in Bratislava in June.

He moved to Marseille from Norwich on an initial loan in August 2024, before making the move permanent this summer and scored three goals in 31 appearances for the club.

Bologna lost 1-0 in their opening Serie A match on Saturday at Roma.
