Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds was spotted on FaceTime during the celebrations following Sam Smith's opening goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup.

The Red Dragons welcomed the eight-time FA Cup winners to Wales on Saturday evening, aiming to deliver another giant-killing performance having knocked out Nottingham Forest in the third round.

Chelsea named a squad brimming with Premier League quality, including Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto, but it was Wrexham who broke the deadlock as Smith slotted low beyond Robert Sanchez after Callum Doyle's raking pass.

Whilst the players celebrated with supporters, television cameras cut to Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in their directors' box to capture their response.

Reynolds, however, appeared to be engaged in conversation with someone via his mobile device.

Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively, joined the two Hollywood proprietors for what marks the club's biggest match under their stewardship thus far.

Smith almost doubled the advantage before half-time, whilst Ryan Longman forced an excellent save from Robert Sanchez after 30 minutes, reports the Mirror.

The Premier League outfit levelled just before the break through a fortuitous own goal, however. Garnacho's right-footed strike was cleared off the line by George Thomason, only to ricochet off Arthur Okonkwo and cross the line.

Reynolds and McElhenney have been associated with the club since their National League days and have overseen three successive promotions, propelling them all the way to the Championship.

The club currently sits in a play-off spot after 35 fixtures, meaning another promotion, to the Premier League, remains achievable.

The co-owners disclosed last month that manager Phil Parkinson has a "job for life" at the club following his contribution in bringing them within striking distance of the top-flight. "I don't know [if] I have the words to fully describe how integral Phil has been to the story and success of Wrexham," McElhenney told The Athletic.

"Ryan and I talk all the time, and I just don't see a scenario where Phil Parkinson gets fired. It doesn't make any sense.

"He has been the architect, the creator of this. From our perspective, he's got the job for life. Unless he finds another job he wants to go off and do, he's our coach. He's our manager. He's our guy.

"I know that sounds silly and maybe irresponsible to say publicly, but the truth is that's how we feel. And we have always worn our hearts on our sleeves. Always been as honest as possible."
