Mikey Moore grabbed a goal and was the subject of VAR controversy as Rangers drew 2-2 with Livingston on Sunday. And the Tottenham loanee has been lauded for his latest outing.

As they attempt to reel in Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, Moore's side had hoped to claim all three points when they visited bottom-placed Livingston. However, with 55 minutes on the clock they found themselves 2-0 down.

On-loan Spurs winger Moore was in from the start and after the home side saw a man sent off, momentum shifted. Emmanuel Fernandez bagged a goal before Moore headed home to equalise.

In stoppage time, the 18-year-old thought he had earned his team a penalty after being brought down in the box but even after consulting with VAR, the referee ignored his appeals. Nevertheless, Moore enjoyed a promising game against Livingston and has shown real promise in recent weeks as Scottish media have their say.

Daily Record

For his performance against Livingston, Moore was awarded a 7/10 rating by the Daily Record. This score was the joint-highest among any Rangers player.

Spurs will be pleased to see Moore progressing on loan after he enjoyed a stint in the first team under Ange Postecoglou. He was handed his senior debut against Manchester City in May 2024.

However, the Record did caveat Moore's inclusion by noting that he lacks one characteristic. They reported: "The on-loan Spurs kid took [Ryan] Naderi's starting place, deployed just off [Youssef] Chermiti in attack but obviously not posing as much of a physical threat.

"Either way, it was a strong, powerful first XI which meant there could be no excuses for Rangers or [manager Danny] Rohl slipping up against the Premiership's bottom side at a ground filled with away fans."

Glasgow World

Another outlet, Glasgow World, were also impressed with Moore in the draw. They, like the Record, gave the 18-year-old a 7/10 rating for his efforts. But they also took a relatively firm stance on the penalty shout in stoppage time. They claim: "Defender Cammy Kerr unfairly brought down Moore in stoppage time at Almondvale.

"[But] conceding twice at this stage of the campaign to the Premiership's worst side did little to help Rangers' title credentials on what proved to be another dramatic day in the top-flight."

The Scotsman

The Scotsman dubbed Rangers' draw "dramatic" and while they didn't hail the Tottenham star specifically, they did single out his bemusement at not being given a spot-kick.

However, in recent weeks, the publication have praised Moore. During a 4-2 victory over league leaders Hearts earlier this month they rated him an 8/10 for his role in the win. The Scotsman wrote: "[Moore was] a real livewire for Rangers and looked to get the home side on the front foot. Takes so much responsibility, despite being just 18 years old."

At the beginning of the season, they even claimed the teenager was "a future superstar in the making" and he seems to be living up to that promise on loan at Ibrox.
