Seven answers, 70 seconds - Pep Guardiola may have made Man City history

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was not hanging around as he spoke to reporters ahead of the Premier League game with Fulham.

Pep Guardiola was early for his press conference on Monday afternoon, sitting down with reporters four minutes before he was due to take questions. By the time the original time of 12.30pm had arrived, the first part of the manager's press conference felt like it had been over for ages.

The official clock settled on 135 seconds - just over two minutes - although the majority of that was taken up by those asking the questions. Boiling Guardiola's answers down, the Manchester City manager needed just 70 seconds to answer seven questions put to him in what must be the quickest open press conference that the club had had.

Guardiola was slightly chattier in the second part of his press conference, where the answers are embargoed until Monday evening, but not by much. The City boss did not have much to say to anybody as he prepares his team to take on Fulham, and it was a question on Marco Silva that prompted his longest answer of the first section.

"Marco is many years there and over the years they have always been really, really tough games," he said as he opened up momentarily. "Difficult. The organisation is exceptional and every year I have the feeling that with the ball they are better. A tough opponent.

"I saw the games yesterday and today against Chelsea, Arsenal and the last game against Sunderland, and it is always so difficult for opponents. It always has been in a beautiful stadium in London."

Otherwise, questions on Rodri and Gianluigi Donnarumma were given short shrift as Guardiola showed little appetite for sticking around. With two games to come this week, that means another three press conferences in addition to flash interviews around games.
