Several Tottenham players are set to lock horns against each other in the group stage of next year’s FIFA World Cup.

17 Tottenham players have seen their nations book their place in the World Cup, and several more could follow.

With Sweden, Romania, Wales and Italy in the Playoffs, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall, Radu Dragusin, Guglielmo Vicario, and Destiny Udogie are still trying to join their Spurs teammates in North America next summer.

The draw for the World Cup was made at the  John F. Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C last Saturday, and it has thrown up some tasty Spurs battles.

Four all-Tottenham battles in the World Cup group stage

Argentina and Austria have been placed together in Group J, which means that two senior Tottenham centre-backs, Kevin Danso and Cristian Romero, will be locking horns.

An even more tasty battle in Group L sees England take on Ghana, which could very well have Djed Spence and Mohammed Kudus directly going up against each other.

There will also be a lot of banter flying around among the Spanish mafia at Spurs, with Pedro Porro’s Spain placed in the same group as Rodrigo Bentancur’s Uruguay.

Finally, Xavi Simons and Micky van de Ven could come up against Kota Takai, with the Netherlands and Japan placed in Group F.

With Sweden also set to enter Group F if they get through the playoffs, there could be some even more tasty clashes from a Spurs perspective.

Spurs players will also lock horns in World Cup playoffs

There will also be a big all-Tottenham clash in the playoffs, with Wales and Italy finding themselves in Path A.

They will not be playing each other straight away as Brennan Johnson, Ben Davies and the Welsh contingent will first go up against Bosnia in the semi-final.

Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario and the Italians will have to overcome Northern Ireland for a place in the playoff final.

Should they both overcome their respective semifinal opponents, Tottenham’s Italian and Welsh contingent will be directly battling it out for a place in the World Cup.
