The restaurant is scheduled to open this year

The people behind Sexy Fish will be opening a brand new restaurant at the new £300m entertainment zone in Manchester, it has been confirmed. Sexy Fish creator, Laura Montana, will be leading the team at Zadie's, an eatery that will be based at Medlock Square.

Described as a 'glamorous, sultry space', the restaurant will sit above the upcoming Etihad Campus development. Zadie's promises to offer a high-end pan-Asian dining experience, cocktails and late night entertainment.

Zadie's is set scheduled to open this year. Laura will be joined by head chef Paolo Bianchi (Zuma, Alain Ducasse, Lucky Cat, Les Grandes Alpes Courchevel 1850) and head of bars Cressida Lawlor (Sexy Fish, Ego Death, CODE T100 Women in Hospitality) who have created menus for Zadie’s.

Laura said of the project: “I’m delighted to be leading this incredible project - Zadie’s is the culmination of years of work, hundreds of ideas and tiny details I've spotted, collected and loved as I've travelled and opened operations around the world.

"I’ve moved to Manchester and it feels alive with the kind of energy I've not felt in a long time - this is going to be a huge year for us!”

The space was designed in collaboration with international hospitality studio Gorgeous Group, led by Manchester-born Robbie Bargh. The group is responsible for dining and hotel concepts, and collaborations with operators including Dishoom and Six Senses.

Founder of Gorgeous Group Robbie Bargh said: What a project for the team and I to be involved in! And to be working in my home town of Manchester too, it’s so exciting. We love to bring desire and emotion to restaurants and bars we work on, and this one has mountains of it - Zadie is cool and she’s fun - she’s the girl you want to follow and the girl you want to hang out with - we can’t wait for you to meet her.”

Billed as a 'year-round hub for culture, leisure and entertainment', Medlock Square is aimed at attracting visitors to the Etihad campus even when City aren't playing or if a gig's on at Co-op Live. It will include bars, restaurants and cafes, a sky-walk, giving views over the Manchester skyline, a zip-wire and a three storey office block.

A new hotel built as part of the development is already open.
