Arsenal take on Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-final, looking to reach Wembley Stadium for a second time this season. After the conclusion of the international break the Gunners have had plenty of time to stew on their Carabao Cup final defeat a fortnight ago.
Mikel Arteta has said his side need to learn those lessons and now take on the rest of the season with enjoyment. He will hope that the players who missed the final, Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard, can both bring the quality that was absent as they push to return this weekend.
However, there remain plenty of players who could yet miss the trip having pulled out of international duty. Plus there is a small matter of a UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg in Lisbon in just three days’ time.
