Manchester City injury list ahead of the Champions League clash with Napoli on Thursday night

Manchester City still have several injury concerns heading into their Champions League opener with Napoli on Thursday night.
Abdoukdir Khusanov and Josko Gvardiol were fit enough to start the Manchester derby while Phil Foden also returned and Savinho made his first appearance of the campaign off the bench. Rico Lewis and Nico O'Reilly were also involved having pulled out of international duty with England Under-21s.
But a clutch of senior players remain sidelined ahead of the Champions League tie with Napoli on Thursday and the subsequent Premier League trip to Arsenal on Sunday. Here's the injury latest from the Etihad.
Omar Marmoush
Injury: Knee
Marmoush suffered an injury in the fourth minute of Egypt's goalless draw with Burkina Faso on Tuesday. He tried to carry on but was withdrawn five minutes later.
He returned to Cairo on crutches and underwent a scan in Egypt to assess the extent of the damage. City have now confirmed the 26-year-old will miss the derby but expect him to return to action in the coming weeks.
"We have to make the last tests," said Guardiola of the forward. "A few weeks. Before the international break he will be ready."
Potential return date: Sunday, October 5, Brentford (A)
John Stones
Injury: Muscle
The 31-year-old has started all three City games so far this season and played the full 90 minutes at Brighton before meeting up with England.
But Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel said he didn't want to risk the centre-back in World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
Guardiola said ahead of the derby that Stones remains a doubt for the visit of United and he was subsequently not involved: "Stones as well is a doubt. Not a big issue but he is a doubt for Sunday."
Potential return date: Napoli (H) Thursday, September 18
Rayan Cherki
Injury: Thigh
The France international is sidelined for two months after picking up a thigh injury. It could result in Cherki missing 10 matches with the forward absent for the defeat to Brighton last time out.
Potential return date: Aston Villa (A), October 26
Rayan Ait-Nouri
Injury: Ankle
Ait-Nouri suffered an ankle injury in the early stages of his home debut against Tottenham,
The £31million summer signing from Wolves played against Brighton but did not join up with the Algeria squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Botswana and Guinea.
Guardiola confirmed the left back will miss the game against United.
Potential return date: Arsenal (A) Sunday, September 21
Mateo Kovacic
Injury: Achilles
The midfielder is out until October with the Achilles injury that he had surgery on this summer. Kovacic went under the knife shortly after the season finished, missing the Club World Cup and the rest of pre-season with the hope that he would be able to be fit around the start of the new campaign. But he is now set to be absent until at least the October international break.
Potential return date: Everton (H), October 18
