Surprise development as injured Tottenham star returns to training ahead of schedule

A senior Tottenham Hotspur star has returned to training for the first time in more than seven months.

Thomas Frank has been dealing with a few serious injuries at the start of his time at Tottenham.

James Maddison is expected to be out for the whole of the season after picking up an ACL injury during pre-season, while Dejan Kulusevski is not expected to be back until December.

Additionally, Yves Bissouma is also nursing an injury, while Frank is also having to do without Dominic Solanke, who has been plagued by an ankle problem.

Radu Dragusin is back in Tottenham training

However, the Spurs head coach now has some good news, with his squad soon set to be boosted with the return of Radu Dragusin.

The Romanian has been out of action with an ACL injury he suffered during the 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the Europa League back in January.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that the 23-year-old joined his teammates in training for the first time over recent days as he steps up his return to full fitness.

Dragusin’s return is great news for Frank, particularly given that Tottenham were unable to sign a centre-back in the dying stages of the transfer window.

We might not see Dragusin play for a while

It has been reported over the last two months that Dragusin is ahead of schedule in his recovery from injury, and that has been proven right, with the centre-back now training again.

However, Thomas Frank warned last week that Dragusin would need time to acclimate to football, given that he suffered an ACL injury (The Standard).

The Dane will thus take it slow with the former Genoa man, and we might have to wait another month or so before we see him don the Spurs shirt again.
