Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke about the decision from the club to freeze ticket prices for the 2026/27 season.

Pep Guardiola paid tribute to the 'special' club that he works for as he praised Manchester City for freezing season ticket prices again. The club have opted against raising prices for a second straight year and will also keep matchday prices the same despite most of their competitors introducing hikes.

City referenced the tough economic conditions for their fans as they announced the decision and supporters have been quick to praise the club for listening to them. Many of those fans will be paying out again this weekend heading down to Wembley for the 25th time in the last ten years in an incredible decade of success that Guardiola has led.

The manager suggested that the club have a plan to find the extra revenue that could have been made by increasing ticket prices as he spoke about the importance of fans. Guardiola also referenced the need for the World Cup to be about supporters as he praised City for going against the grain.

"Hats off to my chairman and my CEO," said Guardiola. "This business doesn't work without fans. Imagine playing in the Covid time and we didn't have people in our stadium. The club needs financially to have enough resources to buy the best players and continue to play the players and it's necessary but the club think 'ok, we can find it in another way'.

"The situation in the world is difficult and not increasing season tickets means a lot for how special this club is and how good it is. Hopefully tomorrow they come and the last two or three games at home they can be there."

City's final game of the season will be at home as they host Aston Villa in what they hope will be the game that clinches them the Premier League title. There is also a game with Crystal Palace to be rearranged that has to take place in the final two weeks of the season.
