‘This is the worst Tottenham team I’ve ever seen’ – Former Spurs star rages at lack of fight

Tottenham’s performance in the North London derby has seemingly pushed Jamie O’Hara beyond his breaking point, and the pundit has a stark warning for his former club.

Although Spurs’ results in the Premier League had been going from bad to worse over recent months, there was some optimism among the fans ahead of the North London derby.

Tottenham pushed the reset button by parting ways with Thomas Frank and replacing him with Igor Tudor, and the supporters may have expected a new manager bounce.

While there were signs of that first half, the second period was very predictable, with the Lilywhites struggling to even lay a glove on their North London rivals.

Jamie O’Hara admits he is embarrassed to watch Tottenham

O’Hara did not hold back in his assessment of Spurs’ performance against their bitter rivals, labelling the Tottenham players as ‘absolute charlatans’.

The pundit admitted that he was expecting a better showing from the home side, given the atmosphere and the context of the game, but was appalled at the lack of fight and passion on display.

O’Hara told talkSPORT: “It was terrible, awful, a terrible day at the office. The players were nowhere near it… absolute charlatans. Arsenal were too good, I thought we might have rocked up, new manager bounce, atmosphere rocking, couple of dodgy games for Arsenal, went into the game with a bit of hope, boy was I wrong.

“It was a million miles away from it. We have fallen from grace, even if we had grace, but we have fallen so far away from where we should be as a football club. Recruitment is terrible, the players have no fight, no passion, no direction, no will to win, no will to fight, not tracking runners, easy to score against, no creativity, just nothing.

“We can sit here and talk about whatever, but that performance was embarrassing. I’m embarrassed to watch Spurs play. I can’t watch them anymore, it’s so bad.”

O’Hara insists relegation is on the cards for Spurs

Tottenham find themselves sitting four points off the drop zone with 11 games to go, but some pundits still expect the Lilywhites to stay in the Premier League.

However, O’Hara is certainly not that confident, confessing that Spurs have not got as much fight as Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

The former Tottenham midfielder added: “We haven’t won this year… I’m genuinely worried about going down. West Ham aren’t great, but they’ve got some fight and decent players. Forest battered Liverpool and didn’t win, but I feel like they’ve got something about them.

“This Tottenham team have got absolutely nothing about them, nothing, there’s no fight, passion, nothing. We were just waiting to get beat, not tracking runners… The basics when you’re down in the dumps and fighting to get results, track runners! Run back, keep the ball out the net!

“It’s embarrassing to watch, it’s like watching a kids’ team playing against men… this is the worst Spurs team I’ve ever seen in the Premier League, the worst team I’ve ever seen.”
