The pressure is on for Thomas Frank as Spurs sit in the bottom half of the table, while his team's performances have certainly been inconsistent since his arrival in the summer

Frustrations are high around Tottenham Hotspur, with a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest leaving Thomas Frank under pressure at a critical point in the season as the January transfer window looms - and some fans in the football.london comments section say that it's time for the Spurs hierarchy to make a change in the dugout.

Sunday's result means that Spurs have clocked up just 22 points from their first 16 games - their worst result at this stage of a season since 2008/'09, when Harry Redknapp was called upon to rescue a dreadful stint by Juande Ramos. Thomas Frank could be in danger of going the same way if some fans get their way.

Frank joined the club from Brentford in the summer, with previous manager Ange Postecoglou's success in the Europa League not being enough to paper over the cracks of a dismal league season. Early successes like the statement away win against Manchester City, and comfortable victories over West Ham and Everton, have given way to a troubling league record of one win in seven games.

Frank urged patience after the Forest game, saying: "It was a very bad performance. No two ways about that.

"But also know that to change this, this will take some time. Because no one wants to hear about that. It's just reality. I think the ones who have followed the club and the team, I think it's fair to say there's been a few not-too-consistent performances and that's a thing we are working very hard on."

Some readers say that if the club want to make a change, it should be done soon. Commenter Narsil says: "He has to go tomorrow, that allows us to find someone competent and give him the January window."

Reader Daveindevon writes: "Frank has to go, he is totally out of his depth. He will probably say this was a good performance, as he often does when such rubbish is played."

Totty2 says: "Big problem is that the job is too big for Frank. We are Brentford Mk.2, he never starts same 11, doesn't know his best team. Players look as though they're not on on same song sheet as Frank. P45 him in January."

Kgc1 writes: "We are tired of Frankenstein football, a patched-together monster. Many members of the squad needs to go starting with the manager!"

Others aren't yet calling for sweeping changes, despite frustration with the results. Jeffc00p writes: "I really thought that Frank would be the answer to bring a bit of sanity to this season after the knockabout farce of the last. But, unfortunately, he does appear to be out of his depth with this squad of underperforming, overpaid bunch of posers, who need someone like a Klopp or Guardiola character to put a rocket up their backsides!

"I wasn't expecting us to necessarily be challenging for the top 4 this season, but certainly for the top 6 and there's absolutely no excuse for us finishing any lower. I don't particularly want us to be changing managers again so soon already - the merry-go-round has to stop sometime, but Frank needs to quickly get a grip!"

Darma70 says: "I don't think Thomas Frank is the problem. How many of that starting line up today would get into a top 4 team? Recruitment over the last few years has not been good enough."

Christo.cy adds: "Frank is desperately trying to keep the team together, but he refuses to face the harsh realities. Truth is most of our players are not good enough, the recruitment is terrible for years now, and any sense of discipline is lost."
