Thomas Frank reveals how many Tottenham games Lucas Bergvall will miss after concussion

Tottenham Hotspur are still battling their way through a growing injury list, and now Thomas Frank has offered an update on Lucas Bergvall, following the concussion he suffered against Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur had only just received a slight boost on the injury front ahead of their clash against Chelsea, with Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, and Wilson Odobert returning to make the bench.

However, after only seven minutes into that league fixture, Tottenham were dealt another setback, as Lucas Bergvall picked up an injury to his head.

The 19-year-old midfielder was forced off due to concussion protocols and had to miss the rest of the game against Chelsea after returning to the starting XI for the first time in the league since September.

Thomas Frank reveals Lucas Bergvall injury update for Tottenham

Speaking to the media ahead of Tottenham’s Champions League tie on Tuesday, Thomas Frank confirmed that Lucas Bergvall will be unavailable for the next few matches.

According to the GRTP protocol, reports claimed that Bergvall could miss Tuesday’s clash and Spurs’ next two Premier League games, but Frank’s update states otherwise.

Asked about the Swede, Frank told Football.London: “He is out for the next two games now.”

Bergvall, who was Tottenham’s Player of the Season last term, has yet to find a consistent rhythm under Frank, and this latest setback will no doubt come as another frustration for the young midfielder.

Spurs could benefit from international break

Those two games would begin with Tuesday’s Champions League cup tie and end at the weekend when Tottenham face Manchester United in the Premier League.

After that league clash, club football is set to pause for the final international break of the year, as nations continue their push to qualify for next year’s World Cup.

The international break could not have come at a better time for Tottenham, whose injury list appears to grow with every passing week.
