Thomas Frank has admitted that Pape Sarr missed Tottenham’s clash against Doncaster Rovers due to a fitness problem and has revealed whether the midfielder is expected to be fit for the clash against Wolves.

As expected, Frank named a much-changed side for the Carabao Cup third round clash, with Antonin Kinsky coming for his first start of the season, and the likes of Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert also being named in the eleven.

Tottenham got the job done comfortably despite resting key players, emerging 3-0 winners to seal progression into the next round.

The likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero and Pape Sarr were not even named in the matchday squad, and Frank admitted that the latter’s absence was due to an injury.

Thomas Frank sheds light on Pape Sarr’s injury at Tottenham

The Tottenham head coach admitted that the Senegal international was only left out of the squad as a ‘precaution’, explaining that it was a minor thigh injury.

Frank revealed that the 22-year-old has a very good chance of being fit for the Premier League clash against Wolves on Saturday.

When asked why Sarr was left out against Doncaster, the Spurs boss said (via Football.London): “Pape Matar Sarr just a minor precaution. A minor, how can you say, a little stretch to the thigh, so we didn’t want to take any risks today. There is a good chance that he could be ready for Saturday.”

Other injured Spurs players could also be back against Wolves

According to reports, Randal Kolo Muani, Ben Davies and Dominic Solanke also have a chance of being fit to play Wolves.

Tottenham’s long-term absentees, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, are still a while away from returning.

However, Dragusin is now back in training, and it was confirmed by Thomas Frank recently that Kulusevski is certain to be fit before the end of the calendar year.
