  • Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori (knocks): The two full-backs suffered "kicks" in the defeat to Aston Villa. Timber, despite travelling to Belgium, missed out on featuring in the squad. When asked if the Dutchman was OK, Arteta said: "I hope so. Calafiori meanwhile, played the final 30 minutes of the Champions League win over Club Brugge.
  • Max Dowman (ankle ligament injury): The youngster is set for a significant spell on the sidelines, expected to be around two months, after picking up an injury playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly for the under-21s.
  • Gabriel Jesus (returned after serious knee injury): Arteta was handed one positive on Wednesday evening with Jesus getting his first minutes in 11 months. He looked sharp in his cameo against Brugge.
  • Leandro Trossard (knock/calf Issue): The Belgian forward has been dealing with a recurrence of a calf issue. He missed the fixture against Brugge, but the issue is not expected to be long-term, with a potential return for the upcoming weekend.
  • William Saliba (knock): The defender is still out with a knock picked up in training and thus missed the Club Brugge match. He is being assessed, with a hopeful return potentially for the next Premier League fixture against Wolves.
  • Declan Rice (illness): Missed the Club Brugge match due to illness. This is generally considered a minor issue, and he is likely to be available for the weekend.
