Tottenham agree £8.5m winger sale on transfer deadline day but it is not Manor Solomon

Tottenham Hotspur are busy finalising late transfer business, with one winger about to seal a permanent exit from north London, but it is not Manor Solomon.

Tottenham Hotspur’s focus this deadline day is not purely on arrivals, as the club is also working to sanction several exits to streamline the squad.

Manor Solomon has been heavily linked with a move away; however, he now looks increasingly likely to remain in north London, with Thomas Frank set to keep him around for the new campaign.

Bryan Gil is also still on the Tottenham payroll, with his loan at Girona having been cut short last season. Despite returning to Hotspur Way, he is yet to feature due to injury concerns that have left his future uncertain.

Tottenham agree permanent Bryan Gil transfer to Girona

According to Tom Allnutt, Tottenham have completed the sale of one of their wingers on deadline day, and it is not Manor Solomon.

It is understood that Tottenham have now agreed a deal with Girona for Bryan Gil worth €10m (£8.5m), with the move this time being a permanent transfer rather than another loan.

The Spaniard, who spent last season on loan at Girona, scored three goals and provided three assists across 25 La Liga appearances, which caught the eye of several clubs looking to strengthen their wide options.

Reports indicate that Elche also submitted an offer for Gil, but the 24-year-old opted to return to Girona, ending his four-year stint in north London with Tottenham.

Also, Tottenham have agreed a deal with Girona to sell Bryan Gil for 10m euros, this time a permanent transfer.

Gil also had an offer from Elche but will return to Girona, where he spent last season on loan. Leaves 4 years after joining Spurs in 2021.https://t.co/ooVk606Nqw

Spurs still need further squad exits on deadline day

While Gil’s sale will ease some of the squad congestion, Tottenham remain in need of further outgoings if Thomas Frank is to have the balanced group he wants heading into the season.

The Gil transfer is a positive step, yet the situations involving Yves Bissouma and Manor Solomon remain pressing and could well define the rest of Tottenham’s deadline day.

Galatasaray had been linked with a move for Bissouma, but reportedly cooled their interest due to concerns over his fitness, and although fresh reports suggest the midfielder is now likely to remain at Tottenham, the club will still need to explore solutions before the window closes.
