After Tottenham Hotspur signalled their interest in a young Brazilian starlet, a host of other clubs across the continent have now followed suit, complicating the Lilywhites’ transfer pursuit.

It first emerged last week that Tottenham and Barcelona had scouted Vasco da Gama’s Rayan ahead of a potential January move.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the best young talents in Brazilian football and looks set to be the next exciting teenage export from the South American country.

Some sources have claimed that Spurs have already started exploring a work permit for Rayan as they aim to steal a march on the competition for the exciting winger.

Several clubs are in the race for Tottenham target Rayan

ASRomaLive have now suggested that the race for the Vasco starlet is now heating up, but they make no mention of Tottenham Hotspur in their report.

The outlet reveals that Porto have offered the Brazilian club €10m (£8.7m) for the 19-year-old, but the bid was sent back.

Additionally, Dynamo Moscow have offered a ‘very high fee’ for Rayan, but the player decided to turn down a move to the Russian club.

Meanwhile, clubs from the Saudi Pro League are offering big money for the Brazilian, but he is keen on moving to one of Europe’s top leagues instead.

Two Serie A giants are also keen on landing Rayan

It turns out that Spurs will have even more competition to deal with for the teenager, as ASRomaLive claims that AC Milan and Roma are both circling over him.

However, both Italian clubs want to wait until next summer to substantiate their interest in the young winger.

Other sources have claimed over recent days that Tottenham will also face competition from Chelsea and Brighton for Rayan’s signature.
