A new report has explained Tottenham’s stance on the future of Guglielmo Vicario ahead of the January transfer window.
It has been widely reported over the past few weeks that Spurs have started to identify replacements for Vicario in light of his inconsistency this season.
This comes amidst rumours that Inter Milan are extremely keen to try and lure the Tottenham number one back to Serie A.
Vicario continues to come under heavy criticism from the media, and it appears as if the Italian’s days at N17 could be numbered if he continues making the kind of blunders he has this term.

Tottenham are not planning to replace Guglielmo Vicario
However, The Telegraph have now rubbished those claims about the former Empoli man’s potential exit, ruling out a January sale of the goalkeeper.
The outlet claims that as things stand, the Lilywhites are not thinking about upgrading on Vicario in the upcoming transfer window.
Despite the Italian’s costly errors this season, Tottenham insiders are said to retain belief in his quality.
It is explained that while Thomas Frank and others at Spurs want Vicario to improve on his distribution, they still believe he is good enough to be the club’s number one.
Stats suggest Vicario has been decent this season
The Telegraph explain that stats from Opta back up Tottenham’s optimism about their goalkeeper, with the numbers suggesting that he is preventing more goals this term than he did in his previous two seasons.
Vicario has conceded a lower number of expected goals on target, while his clean sheet ratio and save percentage have also improved this season.
According to Opta, the Tottenham star has a better save percentage in the Premier League this season than Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manchester United’s Senne Lammens and Liverpool’s Alisson Becker.
