Tottenham and West Ham's final position and points tally predicted after Nottingham Forest twist

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are locked in a relegation battle with a month left of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have been predicted to suffer relegation in Opta's final Premier League table with West Ham maintaining their top-flight status.

The north London side sit 18th in the table and are two points off the Hammers with five games to go in the season. Fellow relegation contenders Nottingham Forest claimed a huge victory on Friday when defeating Sunderland 5-0 at the Stadium of Light to go eight points clear of safety.

The emphatic victory by Vitor Pereira's side has given them breathing room in the dogfight with Spurs and West Ham look likely to battle it out in the final few games. Opta's predicted table had Arsenal as the Premier League champions and Spurs finishing 18th with a points tally of 36.90.

West Ham finished narrowly above in 17th with 38.49 points and Forest some distance away in 16th with a final total of 44.02 points. Remaining without a Premier League win in 2026 with their last victory coming in late December against Crystal Palace, Spurs travel to the already-relegated Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

With upcoming games against Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton, picking up three points at Molineux is of the utmost importance and as Roberto De Zerbi said, is a must-win game for his side.

The Italian boss was speaking ahead of the crucial clash and insisted while he does not want to pile on the pressure on his players, they know the significance of the match. He said: "I don't want to put pressure but we have to know the situation.

"We can't forget the table; we can't forget we need to win. What we have done until now is not enough. If we win at Wolves, it's not finished. There will be four games. We deserve to win games. I knew Brighton was one of the best teams in the league. After Chelsea, everyone understood. We played a good game but we were unlucky."

Despite losing 4-0 to West Ham and 3-0 to Leeds in their last two games, Wolves' recent impressive home form doesn't spell good reading for a Spurs side already suffering from a total lack of confidence.

Speaking about his side's trip to Wolves, De Zerbi insisted: "It's not an easy game. The last three at home, they drew with Arsenal, and won against Aston Villa and Liverpool. It's a tough game because they have nothing to lose. We have to be able to play, not too much pressure.

"My work is to prepare the game in my best way, but to play football. These players are very good players. They have important qualities, and they play without too many problems in their head."
