Tottenham are battling Liverpool and Man City for ‘annoyed’ £70m winger

Tottenham Hotspur are one of three clubs that could launch an offer for an exciting Premier League winger in January.

Over the last few days, some outlets have claimed that Tottenham are prioritising signing a wide-forward over a striker in the January window.

One Premier League winger, in particular, is thought to have piqued the Lilywhites’ interest after a blistering start to the season.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham may make a move for Antoine Semenyo in January after exploring an approach for the Ghana international in the summer, but Spurs are expected to face competition for the Bournemouth star.

Writing in his Inside Football newsletter for The Independent (10/10/25), Miguel Delaney said: “I am told that Tottenham Hotspur have struck ahead of many rivals for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, with some sources insistent the deal could happen in January. Bournemouth still want at least £70m.”

Tottenham could battle Man City and Liverpool for Antoine Semenyo

It has been revealed on Sky Sports’ live transfer blog that Tottenham want to add to their forward line in January, and are particularly interested in signing someone who plays on the left.

They have zeroed in on Semenyo, but they could face heavy competition for the winger, with Liverpool and Man City also thinking about making a move for the Cherries star.

Even though the 25-year-old only signed a new five-year deal at the Vitality Stadium in the summer, it is revealed that a January offer cannot be ruled out as Spurs, the Reds and the Cityzens continue to monitor the player.

Sky Sports explain that contrary to what has been reported by some outlets, the winger has not asked to leave Bournemouth in January.

In fact, it is revealed that the Ghanaian is ‘annoyed’ by claims that he wants out of the South Coast club mid-season.

It was reported by journalist Dean Jones a couple of weeks ago that a £65m release clause in Semenyo’s contract becomes active next summer.
