Simon Jordan has shot a warning to the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy amidst the news of Roberto De Zerbi’s impending arrival.
Tottenham feel they are closing in on De Zerbi, who is expected to become the club’s third different head coach this season.
The Italian is set to receive a five-year contract at Spurs, which will make him one of the highest-paid managers across the Premier League.
It appears a gamble by the Lilywhites on a manager, who has a history of being temperamental at a time when the club are in the middle of a major crisis, and not everyone agrees that it is a prudent move.

Simon Jordan warns Tottenham that Roberto De Zerbi would ‘create chaos’
Some pundits have suggested that De Zerbi is not the man Spurs need right now in the middle of a relegation fight.
The former Brighton boss does not have experience navigating a relegation battle in the Premier League, and Simon Jordan is among those who think this appointment could blow up in Tottenham’s faces.
When asked about De Zerbi solving Spurs’ creativity issues, the former Crystal Palace owner told talkSPORT: “De Zerbi is creative, yeah, he’s good at creating chaos and disruption with people that he works for.
“But he’s a capable manager, and at the end of the day, you have to put the players into the conversation. The players go and execute the outcome. How can the players possibly, in any parallel universe, be excused from the outcome?”
The Spurs hierarchy has taken a bold call against popular fan sentiment
Many Tottenham fans wanted to see Mauricio Pochettino return in the summer, and that would have undoubtedly been the safer decision for the Spurs hierarchy at a time when they are not particularly popular.
Additionally, some Spurs fan groups have misgivings about De Zerbi’s fit for the values the club embodies.
Vinai Venkatesham and the Tottenham leadership have made a bold decision and stuck their neck out on the line, and only time will tell if it proves to be an inspired one or the final nail in the coffin for a struggling club.
