Tottenham Hotspur have just done something under Thomas Frank in the Premier League which never happened when Ange Postecoglou was the club’s manager.
Tottenham Hotspur drew fewer matches in the Premier League than any other team last season, recording five of these results in total.
During the 2025/26 campaign, Spurs have already picked up the same number of draws after just 19 fixtures, but there was something different about their recent fixture against Brentford.
Neither side was able to score across the 90 minutes, making the game Tottenham’s first goalless draw of the season.

Tottenham’s Premier League draw with Brentford ended a 137-game streak
Before the draw between Brentford and Spurs on Thursday night, the North Londoners had not partaken in a goalless Premier League draw since April 2022.

Interestingly, this result also came away to Brentford, who were managed by Thomas Frank at the time, while Tottenham were led by Antonio Conte.
Spurs failed to have a shot on target that day, whereas they tested the goalkeeper three times in the most recent meeting between the sides. However, none of these efforts was enough to break the deadlock and wrap up all three points.
Spurs are not good enough in attack
The Brentford game might be the first time Tottenham have played in a goalless draw this season, but it is by no means the first time the club have failed to score over a 90-minute match.
Spurs have now blanked against Bournemouth, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Brentford, as well as Monaco in the Champions League.
It is time for the Tottenham board to decide whether this is primarily due to the players, or if it is the result of a manager who only seems to care about his team’s ‘clean sheet mentality’.
