Tottenham Hotspur have provided some bad news on a player who was withdrawn due to injury during the club’s 2-1 loss to West Ham United.
For a long time now, Spurs have been caught in a vicious cycle with injuries. Just as some key players return, they seem to lose others to major injuries.
Tottenham have been boosted by the return of Dominic Solanke, but they have lost the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus to serious injuries over recent weeks.
To make matters worse, Ben Davies and Archie Gray were forced off with injuries against West Ham, and the news regarding one of them is as bad as many feared.

Tottenham defender Ben Davies will undergo surgery on his ankle
The Wales international was stretchered off in the first half against the Hammers and Tottenham have now confirmed that the injury is as serious as it appeared.
Davies has now suffered a fracture on his left ankle and will have to undergo surgery to fix the issue.
While Spurs have not provided a timeline for the 32-year-old, it is clear that he now faces several months on the treatment table.
We can confirm that Ben Davies will undergo surgery today for a fracture of his left ankle.

Is Davies’ World Cup dream at risk?
Thankfully for the Tottenham defender, there still appears to be time for him to recover for the World Cup, which could be his last major tournament if Wales get there.
However, the one thing we know is that the defender will not play a part in helping the Dragons book their place in North America.
Craig Bellamy’s men have their playoff semifinal in March, and it appears that they will have to do without the Tottenham man’s leadership and experience.
