Manchester United have entered the race for Morgan Gibbs-White, who Tottenham Hotspur came so close to signing last summer.
While Conor Gallagher has made a decent start to life at Spurs, his arrival has not solved the creativity problems in the middle of the park for the Lilywhites.
They have struggled to progress the ball up the pitch all season, with Tottenham’s midfielders accused of being too conservative on the ball.
The Lilywhites may turn to an England international to fix that problem, but the competition for his services continues to intensify.

Man United enter race for Tottenham target Morgan Gibbs-White
Reports indicate that Spurs may go back in for Morgan Gibbs-White this summer after their failed efforts to land him before this season.
However, it emerged a little over a week ago that Man City could challenge the Lilywhites in the race for the Nottingham Forest man.
Now, The Daily Mail have reported that Manchester United have also entered the race for Gibbs-White ahead of the summer window.
The Red Devils are monitoring the England midfielder’s situation at Forest as the Midlands side tries to preserve their Premier League status.
It is revealed that United also hold a ‘strong interest’ in Gibbs-White’s team-mate Elliot Anderson, and they could eye a double-raid of Forest if they finish in the bottom three.
Spurs may have one advantage over Man United in Gibbs-White race
The Daily Mail explain that the one challenge for Michael Carrick’s side in pushing through a deal for the Forest star is the player’s wage demands.
United are trying to drive down their wage bill, which means that the former Wolves man, who is on around £150,000-a-week at Forest, may have to turn down bigger salary offers from other Premier League sides to move to Old Trafford.
In stark contrast, reports indicate that Spurs are prepared to get rid of their tight wage structure and offer higher salaries if they avoid relegation this season.
