Tottenham could offer Destiny Udogie swap deal after £17.2m bid for Niccolo Pisilli

Tottenham Hotspur failed with an offer for Niccolo Pisilli in the winter, but they may attempt a swap deal for the player in the summer.

While Spurs strengthened their midfield with the addition of Conor Gallagher in January, reports indicated that Tottenham also wanted to add another creative passer to their midfield.

That is not surprising, considering that the Lilywhites have struggled to progress the ball through the middle of the park for much of the season.

It was reported last summer that Spurs explored a move for a 21-year-old Serie A midfielder, and it has now been claimed that the Premier League side’s interest in the player has not gone away.

Tottenham could attempt to swap Destiny Udogie with Niccolo Pisilli

According to ASRomaLive, Roma midfielder Niccolo Pisilli is attracting plenty of attention amidst his impressive recent form for the Italian club.

The outlet claims that the Lilywhites made an offer of €20m (£17.2m) for the Italy international during the January window.

While that was sent back by the Giallorossi, Pisilli remains of interest for Tottenham ahead of the summer window.

It is alleged that Spurs could propose a swap deal to Roma, which could see Destiny Udogie move to the Stadio Olimpico as part of the deal to bring the midfielder to N17.

Serie A giants ready to challenge Spurs for Pisilli

Tottenham were not the only ones to make a move for the midfielder in January, with ASRomeLive revealing that Genoa’s advances for the 21-year-old were also knocked back.

The race for the youngster is set to heat up ahead of the summer, with Juventus thought to be keen on securing Pisilli’s services.

However, at the moment, Roma do not intend to sell their academy graduate, and they are in a strong position, given that the youngster is contracted until 2029 in the Italian capital.
