Troy Parrott’s outstanding form this season and his heroics for the Republic of Ireland during the international break could boost Tottenham’s future transfer ambitions.
The striker’s performances during the international break have created a buzz among Tottenham fans on social media. Some of them are even wondering if the Lilywhites made a mistake by letting the 23-year-old leave.
Parrott scored a brace against Portugal to help Ireland win 2-0 in Dublin last week, and the former Spurs man followed that up with a hat-trick at Budapest, almost single-handedly firing the Republic of Ireland to the World Cup playoffs.
The striker has also been prolific for AZ Alkmaar this season, and his form has not gone unnoticed in England, with reports indicating Everton and Leeds United are exploring moves for Parrott.

Tottenham could get over £3m boost as Leeds step up Troy Parrott interest
According to a report from De Telegraaf (as relayed by CaughtOffside), Leeds United are now stepping up their pursuit of the Tottenham academy graduate.
The report says that AZ want £16m for Parrott and Leeds have the financial muscle to meet that asking price.
Spurs Web recently covered that Tottenham have a 20 per cent sell-on clause on Parrott. That means that should the striker move to Elland Road in a £16m deal, the Lilywhites will stand to gain £3.2m from the operation.
Should Spurs consider re-signing Parrott?
It has been widely reported over recent months that Tottenham want to add a number nine to their squad in January, given the injury issues they have had up front.
Some Spurs fans have suggested that the club could consider re-signing Parrott, given that the striker will be available on a discount due to their sell-on clause.
However, the 23-year-old has spoken publicly about his frustrations at Tottenham, and he may not be too keen to return to N17 unless he is guaranteed game time.
