Tottenham could target winger with 20 G/A last season if they miss out on Savinho

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that the Lilywhites may turn their attention towards a young French starlet if they miss out on Savinho this summer.

While reports continue to indicate that Tottenham are confident of getting a deal for Eberechi Eze over the line, the same cannot be said for Savinho.

Manchester City have reportedly rejected Spurs’ offer for Savinho, and it has been suggested that it is going to take a big-money bid for the Lilywhites to prise the Brazilian away from the Etihad Stadium.

It appears that Tottenham may not be putting all their eggs in the Savinho basket, and have identified another young winger as a potential backup.

Tottenham monitor Maghnes Akliouche as Savinho alternative

This update comes from Paul O’Keefe, who has revealed that Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche is on Tottenham’s radar.

This is not the first time Spurs have been linked with the 23-year-old, with CaughtOffside reporting back in June that Tottenham are showing strong interest in Akliouche.

The Frenchman scored eight goals and provided 12 assists in what was a stellar campaign last term, and he has begun the new season with a goal in Monaco’s season-opener against Le Harve.

O Keefe has stated on social media that Akliouche ranks high on Tottenham’s wishlist when asked who the club’s backup option is for the left-wing role.

Why Tottenham fans should be optimistic about Savinho pursuit

It has been widely reported that Savinho is keen on completing a move to Spurs as the 21-year-old wants to play regularly ahead of next year’s World Cup.

We know that Pep Guardiola does not tend to stand in the way of players who want to leave City.

Additionally, it has been reported that City hold an interest in Real Madrid star Rodrygo, and they would likely have to sell the Tottenham target to a fund a move for the 24-year-old.
