Tottenham have been dealt a fresh injury concern as one source provides a further update on the condition of Randal Kolo Muani.

Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Manchester United at the weekend saw Thomas Frank’s men pick up a hard-fought point, but the game also came at a cost with a few injuries sustained.

Randal Kolo Muani was withdrawn at half-time after picking up a knock, while Cristian Romero also suffered a late blow in the closing stages.

Thomas Frank had initially delivered a positive update on both players, suggesting the injuries were not too serious, but new information now paints a different picture regarding the fitness of Kolo Muani.

Journalist reveals worrying update on Tottenham forward Randal Kolo Muani

It was revealed earlier today that Kolo Muani had sustained a jaw injury, which was expected to be more serious than first feared, with the Frenchman even reported to have withdrawn from the French national team squad.

A further update from content creator Chris Cowlin has now shed more light on the situation, detailing the potential length of Kolo Muani’s absence.

Cowlin explained that the striker could face a spell on the sidelines, and depending on the severity, it might be longer than initially anticipated.

He said: “Randal Kolo Muani is expected to be out of action for around 6-8 weeks. If surgery is required he could be out for a number of months.”

Major setback for Spurs and Kolo Muani

It is certainly a major blow for Kolo Muani, who has had to endure a tough start to life in north London, with injuries repeatedly halting his momentum.

The Frenchman missed the early part of the season with a dead leg that was not initially thought to be serious, yet he ended up spending over a month on the sidelines.

With the Tottenham forward now set to miss several weeks, or possibly months, this loan spell could easily turn into one of the more disappointing ones for the club.

Dominic Solanke, however, could return after the international break, which would serve as a timely boost for Thomas Frank and his side in the absence of Kolo Muani.
