Besiktas have entered the race to sign Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic on loan, but the Lilywhites are hesitant to greenlight the move due to one lingering fear.
While Thomas Frank is not short of centre-backs, he will be aware that the fitness record of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven has been poor over recent seasons.
With Tottenham needing a big squad to compete on all four fronts, Frank faces a big decision on whether or not to loan out Luka Vuskovic.
The Croat has impressed in pre-season for Spurs, and according to reports, a host of clubs across Europe have expressed an interest in signing Vuskovic on loan.
Tottenham reluctant to send Luka Vuskovic to Turkish club
Croatian newspaper 24 Sata (as relayed by Sport Witness) now reports that the teenage defender has become a target for Besiktas.
The Turkish side are keen to complete a temporary deal for Vuskovic, but Spurs are reluctant to send the centre-back to Istanbul.
This is because Tottenham feel that the 18-year-old might come under too much pressure playing for the Turkish giants at this stage of his career.
The report names Genoa and Hamburg as the two other clubs at the forefront of the race to land the Spurs defender on loan this summer.
Tottenham are speaking to Bundesliga side about Vuskovic
It emerged a few days ago that Hamburg are currently in talks with Spurs over a loan deal for Vuskovic.
The Tottenham man’s brother, Mario, plays for the German club, who won promotion back to the Bundesliga last season.
However, it was revealed in the report that the Lilywhites would have to cover a significant portion of the Croat’s age to make a loan deal viable for Hamburg.
