Tottenham face roadblocks in pursuit of two top Thomas Frank replacements

Tottenham Hotspur have identified two candidates they want to replace Thomas Frank with, but getting either through the door will be far from easy.

Several sources, including the likes of Fabrizio Romano, have reported that Frank’s job is now under serious threat after Tottenham’s latest loss to West Ham United.

However, it seems Frank will at least be in charge of Tottenham’s game against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Spurs head coach is thought to be losing support among the club’s board, with at least one member of the club’s executive committee wanting to see the back of him.

However, bringing in their preferred replacements for Frank will be easier said than done for Tottenham.

Xabi Alonso and Oliver Glasner may have ‘better options’

The Independent have now claimed that should the Lilywhites part ways with Frank, Xabi Alonso would be the name that would appeal to the club’s hierarchy.

However, the report says that while Alonso’s name has been discussed internally at Tottenham Hotspur, the recently sacked Real Madrid boss feels he will have ‘better options’ over the coming months.

The outlet adds that the same is true of another top Tottenham target, Oliver Glasner, whose exit from Crystal Palace could be accelerated following his recent comments.

It is revealed that Manchester United are also known to be interested in the Austrian coach.
