Tottenham fans have been left frustrated after another transfer breakdown, and the mood around the Spurs faithful is very clear – they do not want the club to deal with Crystal Palace again.
It has been an eventful summer transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur, who were able to strengthen key areas of their squad while also moving on players who were no longer part of the plans.
Six signings were confirmed across the summer, as the new Tottenham boss Thomas Frank looked to add quality and depth in positions that required it, while several departures ensured the squad was trimmed down ahead of the new season.
Amongst the outgoings, Bryan Gil sealed a permanent move to Girona for £8.5 million on deadline day, while Manor Solomon found himself at the centre of a failed transfer saga, with Crystal Palace coming close to completing a deal before it collapsed after both sides exchanged transfer sheets.
Tottenham fans react to Crystal Palace transfer saga
Spurs supporters have now shared their reactions to the latest fiasco involving Crystal Palace, and many of them have made their feelings clear about not wanting to see the club engage in business with the south London side again.
One fan wrote: “Never deal with Palace again.” Another added: “Parish is on the naughty list istg,” while a third supporter commented: “Not the first time this window.”
Others could not understand why Tottenham were still trying to push through deals with Palace after past issues, with one fan pointing out: “Do not know why we would do business with this club after what happened with Eze.”
Another frustrated fan said: “Man, Palace are trying very hard to make me dislike them. I really do not want to but they are trying hard,”
while another added: “Stop doing business with slippery Parish.” The general feeling was summed up in the most common line repeated by the fanbase: “Do not ever deal with Palace again.”
Solomon joins Villarreal as Spurs move on
Palace and Tottenham had looked to do business together earlier this summer when Spurs tried to complete the signing of Eberechi Eze, but that deal fell through with Arsenal eventually landing the Englishman.
That of course, has added to the frustration of Tottenham fans. However, despite the late collapse of a deal with Crystal Palace, Spurs still managed to find a solution for Manor Solomon, with the winger securing a loan move to Villarreal for the season.
The Israeli international is now set to face Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League league phase in September, with Spurs now having to prepare to stop one of their own former players.
