Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing about Eberechi Eze transfer twist

Tottenham fans have been quick to share their thoughts after fresh reports linked Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze with a move to the club.

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer activity on the incoming front has quietened in recent weeks, with the club yet to complete any new signings since they paid £55 million for Mohammed Kudus back in mid-July.

However, the past few days have seen Spurs shift gears again, with top-tier journalists reporting that the club are considering more marquee additions to the squad.

Fabrizio Romano revealed only a few hours ago that Tottenham are back in the race for Eze, with the Crystal Palace man understood to be keen on making the move to north London.

It has been an exciting few hours for Spurs fans, who have wasted no time reacting to the latest update on Eze. Some supporters are excited, while others remain sceptical about the club pulling off a deal for the England international.

One supporter said: “Eze, Savinho, Tel, Odobert, Johnson, Kulu, Maddison. Replace Richarlison with a decent CF and we are dangerous.”

Another stated: “No messing around, pay what they request and maintain a good relationship with Parish for when we go back next season for Wharton. Need to get this and Savinho done ASAP.”

One urged: “Do not fumble this Tottenham.” Another wondered: “Could they actually pull off their first ever 10/10 window?” while one pleaded: “PLEASE TOTTENHAM.”

A more sceptical fan said: “Never happening. Both deals will cost upwards of £60m. Feels like the same Eberechi Eze and Neto rumours last summer at Tottenham, only to end up with neither. Believe it when I see it.” Another added: “Pay the money you shiny bald man.”

One questioned the timing: “Why would we wait until the release clause expired?”

Why Eze makes perfect sense for Spurs

Links to Eberechi Eze are understandable, as Tottenham need a number ten following injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Maddison has injured his ACL and is set to miss the majority of the 25/26 season, while Dejan Kulusevski is expected to return sometime in the Spring.

Eze, on the other hand, has shown he can deliver in the Premier League after several impressive seasons at Selhurst Park. Last term, the versatile forward delivered another standout campaign, scoring 14 goals and assisting 11 in 43 appearances.

Spurs need experience in their squad, and Eze would certainly bring that. However, with the versatile midfielder’s release clause now expired, it remains to be seen how much Palace will demand for their talisman.
