Conor Gallagher has now hailed Tottenham Hotspur teammate Xavi Simons’ mentality after a series of standout displays in a Spurs shirt.
Xavi Simons is finally getting into his element in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt following a string of top performances.
The Dutchman was impressive against Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League before taking it a step up in the Premier League against Manchester City last weekend.
While Dominic Solanke emerged as the hero thanks to his brace, Simons was equally as good against Pep Guardiola’s men.

Thomas Frank praises Xavi Simons winning mentality at Tottenham
Indeed, this is a massive step up for the Dutchman, who struggled in his opening ten games in a Tottenham shirt following his move from RB Leipzig in the summer.
Asked about Xavi Simons’ growing influence afterwards, Thomas Frank highlighted the Dutchman’s mentality, creativity, and determination to impact games at both ends of the pitch.
Speaking to the official Tottenham channels, Frank said: “Xavi’s a winner, a big winner. He’s very creative and I think we see more and more of his creative side, but also the winner, the mentality to want to land on second balls, to do the counter-press, to win the duels, which is part of football as well.
“Then, when he just runs at the goal, that’s why he’s electric and showing moments. He’s really grown.”

Conor Gallagher also praised Simons, focusing on his work ethic, passion, and the qualities that make him such a valued teammate.
Speaking about what the Dutchman brings to the Tottenham side, Gallagher said: “He’s a brilliant player. He’s one of those guys that you want on your team.
“He works so hard and he just wants to win. He has a lot of passion to give and obviously a lot of quality as well. He’s only going to get better, he’s top.”
Gallagher then addressed Simons’ sheer appetite for the game, emphasising his constant desire to get on the ball and make things happen in attacking areas.
He added, “Exactly. You can see it. That’s why you want him in your team. He wants to get on the ball, he’ll run forward, he’ll create chances and he’ll score. He’s great.”
