Tottenham final Premier League position and relegation verdict as final games predicted

It's hard to look past Tottenham to be relegated in their current form, and the stats gurus have had their say on what will unfold in the final nine games of the season

Tottenham are staring relegation in the face after extending their winless Premier League run to 11 matches, following the home defeat against Crystal Palace. The club remain in 16th position but are just one point ahead of Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

Concern and discontent were on full display in north London on Thursday night as pressure grew on Spurs' stars to fight for Premier League survival and for interim boss Igor Tudor to keep his job. The Croatian coach has been in charge for just three matches.

But all hope is not lost. Tottenham's supporters can perhaps even breathe a sigh of relief if they're willing to buy into the numbers.

Opta Analyst believe that the Lilywhites will secure survival and maintain their place in 16th, one position higher than in 2024/25. The supercomputer experts believe Tottenham will hit the traditional mark for safety: 40 points.

That will be enough to see them finish ahead of West Ham and Nottingham Forest, who are also embroiled in the battle to avoid the final relegation spot. According to Opta, Wolves and Burnley will finish in the bottom two positions and have garnered 24.62 and 27.07 expected points (xP), respectively.

It is the Irons who are expected to head down to the Championship with them, with 37.49 xP. Forest clock up 39.08xP to predict them to survive alongside Igor Tudor's side.

In this prediction, the model expects Wolves to pick up eight points before the end of the season, Burnley eight points, West Ham nine points, Forest 11 points and Spurs 11 points.

Without a Premier League win since the beginning of December, Spurs will hope Tudor's words of seeing progress are true.

"I will tell you now, maybe it will sound strange, but I believe more after this game than I believed before," Tudor said on Thursday. "I saw something.

"I need to choose the right guys because the boat is going in the direction that I want to go and needs to go and who is in the boat can stay. Otherwise, they can leave the boat.

"So, when the other players will come back, I’m sure we will have a good team and the victories will come back."

Tottenham must find their points in fixtures against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Sunderland, Brighton, Wolves, Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea and Everton.
