Despite the British transfer window having closed for business at 7 pm on Monday, Tottenham Hotspur have still managed to find Manor Solomon a late move.
Monday’s deadline day was a relatively quiet one for outgoings, with Tottenham yet to secure moves for some fringe players within the first-team squad.
Yves Bissouma’s move to Galatasaray fell through last week with the midfielder firmly down in Thomas Frank’s midfield pecking order.
Another midfielder looked to be heading out of the door until Manor Solomon’s loan move to Crystal Palace collapsed, despite both clubs having completed a deal sheet to give themselves a further two hours to wrap up the agreement.
Manor Solomon completes move from Tottenham to Villarreal
After Palace decided to pull out of the loan move for Manor Solomon late in the day, it allowed other clubs the opportunity to open talks with Tottenham..
With the La Liga window closing at 11 pm in Spain, Tottenham’s Champions League opponents Villarreal were the club to reach an agreement for the Israeli international.
Fabrizio Romano has given the transfer his ‘here we go’ seal of approval. The winger will join Villarreal on a straight loan, with the Spanish club covering his full wages. The final paperwork will be completed in the coming minutes and hours before an official announcement.

Solomon could now come up against Tottenham when both sides face each other in matchweek one of the Champions League on September 16th at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Solomon’s future at Spurs looks to be over
Despite being named on the bench in Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, Manor Solomon’s loan move to Villarreal could very well be the writing on the wall.
After Randal Kolo Muani joined Tottenham from PSG on a season-long loan, it would have limited Solomon’s chances of first-team football even further.
Solomon signed for Spurs in the summer of 2023 from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, but missed 33 games with a meniscus injury before moving to Leeds on loan last season, where he caught the eye in their Championship campaign.
