Tottenham Hotspur academy set to feature in new ‘All or Nothing’ style docuseries

Tottenham Hotspur supporters will soon have the opportunity to take a closer look at the academy teams thanks to a BBC football docuseries.

The Tottenham Hotspur academy is one of the most important operations of the North London club. Some of the all-time greats at Spurs came through their youth setup, including Harry Kane and Ledley King.

It has been a while since an academy player became an integral part of the Tottenham first-team squad. However, Thomas Frank will be looking to change this, and he will have a chance to test some youngsters when Spurs take on Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup.

There have been some recent success stories for the academy regarding the women’s team. Over the past four seasons, 11 academy graduates have made their competitive debuts for the first team, and Lenna Gunning-Williams became Tottenham’s first graduate to sign a professional contract.

Tottenham academy will feature on BBC programme

Spurs supporters will be able to familiarise themselves with the Spurs academy, because it will feature on the Football Academy, which returns on Monday, September 15, on CBBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

The 15-episode series highlights the journeys of players across the Tottenham academy, as well as the club foundation’s Cerebral Palsy football team.

It is narrated by lifelong Spurs fan Mathew Horne and features appearances from former players Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Sandro, as well as Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie.

Spurs hosted an exclusive premiere event on Wednesday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which featured representatives from the show and their families, to celebrate the launch of the series. King and Gunning-Williams both attended to speak about their journeys from the academy to the first team.

The new programme will give Spurs positive publicity

The Football Academy is a good opportunity to spotlight Tottenham’s academy in a way which is complementary to the club. It will certainly be better publicity than the Amazon Prime All or Nothing documentary, which exposed Tottenham’s dirty laundry for all to see.

The show started with Mauricio Pochettino being shown the door and went on to shed light on tensions between Jose Mourinho and his players, including Danny Rose and Dele.

It ultimately turned the club into a soap opera and likely did more damage than good. However, the new CBBC programme gets eyes on Tottenham in a more positive light.
