Tottenham have made a decisive move in the transfer market with a significant midfield addition now confirmed following mounting injury concerns.
Tottenham Hotspur have had to be active in the transfer window as they seek to get their season back on track following a dismal first half of the campaign.
A £100 million budget has been made available by the Lewis family to strengthen the current squad, which has been hit hard by injuries.
Rodrigo Bentancur became the latest player to be sidelined for an extended period after picking up a knock in the last Premier League fixture against Bournemouth, ruling him out for three months.

Tottenham confirm Conor Gallagher transfer from Atletico Madrid
A replacement has been desperately needed for the Uruguay international, and Tottenham have wasted no time in landing one.
Spurs have now confirmed the signing of Conor Gallagher on a ‘long-term contract’ from Atletico Madrid for €40 million (£35 million).
The England international was made available by the La Liga side and was not short of suitors, with Aston Villa also keen on Gallagher’s services.
However, it is the Lilywhites who have landed the 25-year-old, who has struggled for game time and is looking for more regular minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
What Gallagher brings to Spurs midfield
Spurs supporters have expressed delight at the signing of the former Chelsea midfielder, although some believe further reinforcements are still required in central areas.
Gallagher arrives as a Premier League-ready option, having already featured extensively in England with Chelsea, where he captained the side, as well as spells at Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.
The 25-year-old has made 136 Premier League appearances and is known for his tenacity and work rate, with the ability to operate across several roles, as highlighted below.
| Central midfield | 178 | 22 | 23 |
| Attacking midfield | 68 | 9 | 13 |
| Defensive midfield | 59 | 14 | 6 |
| Left midfield | 22 | 2 | 3 |
| Right midfield | 14 | 3 | 1 |
| Right winger | 2 | – | – |
It is now up to Thomas Frank and his coaching staff to get Gallagher up to speed and maximise his impact.
