Tottenham Hotspur owners are open to one specific kind of investment deal

Despite turning down multiple takeover bids, ENIC are reportedly open to selling Tottenham, but only to a specific type of investor.

Tottenham have already rejected two takeover offers in the weeks following Daniel Levy’s departure from the club.

Last week, it emerged that a US consortium, headed by Brooklyn Earick, was ready to spend £4.5 billion on Spurs.

However, Spurs unequivocally rejected an informal expression of interest from a consortium led by Earick and have maintained that the club is not for sale.

The Lewis family are willing to sell Tottenham to an NFL franchise owner

Football Insider have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur’s majority shareholders would be more open to doing a deal with an NFL franchise owner.

ENIC are more willing to consider a deal which would make Tottenham a bigger combination of sporting assets rather than an outright sale.

The Lilywhites have a contract with the NFL that sees the club’s stadium play host to two NFL matches every year. The report says that this existing tie-up with the NFL is an important element for potential investors, who have shown an interest in buying the club.

Experts expect Tottenham to be sold in the near future

Even though ENIC have rejected takeover interest from various consortia, many football finance experts are convinced that Tottenham will be the next ‘big six’ club to be sold.

Many feel that Levy’s exit may be a catalyst for a sale, but it is clear that the North London club will not come cheap.

According to some estimates, Tottenham are the second most valuable club in the Premier League due to the club’s diverse revenue streams and the relatively low wage bill.
