Tottenham make contact with Conor Gallagher after Thomas Frank’s demand

TEAMtalk say that Spurs are stepping up their efforts to sign a new midfielder this week after the Dane identified a new energetic option in the middle of the park as a necessity.

Frank has told the club’s hierarchy that he needs a ‘high-energy, driving maestro’ in midfield to add legs to the heart of the team.

The 52-year-old wants a player who is capable of progressive carries, relentless pressing, and box-to-box runs to complement the likes of Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall, Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Tottenham have identified Conor Gallagher as one of their top targets after finding out that the Atletico Madrid man is keen on a return to the Premier League.

The North Londoners are said to be in contact with the former Chelsea man’s camp, with a loan move on the cards for the 25-year-old.

Spurs also exploring a move for Carlos Baleba

TEAMtalk say that another player who is ‘firmly on Tottenham’s radar’ is Carlos Baleba, who has impressed Frank’s men with his ball-carrying prowess and defensive tenacity.

The report reveals that Brighton are adamant they do not want to let the Cameroon international go this month, and they could demand around £80m-£87m to change their mind.

Additionally, Spurs face competition for Baleba, with Liverpool and Man United also monitoring the midfielder’s situation closely.
