Tottenham labelled ‘best-performing’ Premier League side, statisically higher than Liverpool

WhoScored shares an impressive Premier League metric about Tottenham, which is a very encouraging sign at the start of the Thomas Frank era.

Not many pundits had Spurs as contenders for a top-four finish before the start of the season, and that feeling was also shared by many Tottenham fans.

After all, the Lilywhites were coming off a historic poor season that saw them achieve their lowest Premier League finish and lose 22 league matches.

However, Thomas Frank has put his imprint on his side in no time, with Tottenham managing three wins and three clean sheets in their first four games of the season, having conceded just one goal so far.

WhoScored stat will surprise Tottenham Hotspur fans

According to WhoScored’s metrics, Tottenham Hotspur have been the best-performing side across the Premier League after the first four games.

Spurs have an average performance rating of 6.91, which is higher than any other side across the division.

Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the top four have also improved significantly, according to Opta’s SuperComputer.

Tottenham are far from the finished product

While the underlying metrics of Tottenham’s performances might be positive, the eye test suggests that there is a lot of room for improvement for the Lilywhites.

The performance against Bournemouth was a shocker, and despite the comfortable win against West Ham, there were some concerning signs in the first half.

However, the fact that WhoScored’s highest rating of any side is 6.91 suggests that no team in the Premier League has been flawless this season, and this could be one of the most tightly-contested campaigns ever.
