Tottenham learn valuation of Premier League defender as transfer competition intensifies

Tottenham Hotspur may have to see off competition from four other Premier League clubs to sign one of the division’s most sought-after defenders.

We are still a long way away from the summer transfer window, with Tottenham not even sure of their Premier League status next season.

However, it appears that the Lilywhites are already making tentative plans on possible transfer targets with the assumption that they would stay up.

Reports over recent weeks have indicated that Tottenham are right in the thick of the race for a Brentford defender this summer, but the competition for the player is now intensifying.

Suitors growing for Tottenham target Michael Kayode

Michael Kayode has been a long-term target for Spurs, and it appears that the Italian’s consistent displays for Brentford have not gone unnoticed in North London.

A report by TEAMtalk has claimed that Man City are the ‘most serious admirers’ of Kayode, but they face competition from several clubs.

That includes Spurs, who have now allegedly learned the Bees’ valuation of the right-back and may be ready to compete for his signature if they avoid relegation.

The report says that Man United have also entered the race for Kayode, while Newcastle have also monitored him closely.

Finally, Arsenal are keen on defensive reinforcements this summer amid uncertainty over the future of Ben White, and they have added the full-back to their shopping list.

Brentford set to demand a huge fee for Kayode

It is said there is a real belief at Brentford that the former Fiorentina man will evolve into a world-class player.

Kayode’s consistent displays this season in the Premier League have seen his value soar to in excess of £60m.

Interest in the right-back is not restricted to the Premier League, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Inter Milan also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.
